London Pubs and Bars - George IV (W4), Chiswick W4 2DR - Welcome

Taking a fresh approach to providing a quality service in a traditional environment.

The George IV is steeped in history which goes way back to the first recordings in 1777 when it was formerly known as ‘Lord Boston Arms’, until sometime after 1820 when George IV ascended the throne. Fuller Smith and Turner acquired the pub in 1820 and in 1838 the manager, George Cloud was running an omnibus service to the city.

The George is located in the district of West London called Chiswick, from the Anglo- Saxon meaning ‘Cheese farm’ originating from the riverside meadows and farms that are thought to have supported an annual cheese fair held on Dukes Meadows up until the 18th century.

We are proud to be one of the flagships for Fullers and offer quality beers and drinks, great freshly cooked food, unbeatable service and the friendliest welcome. It has been reported that there is a ghost here that we affectionately call George who will always keep us on our toes but if you ever have any suggestions or comments please do not hesitate to speak to Sue or any of her team. We are always here to help and we never forget that in whatever we do we always ‘Take Pride’.

We have a large function room equipped with sound stage, multimedia, stand alone bar, food service and many other facilities to accommodate to your needs. Currently used as a stand-up comedy venue on Friday & Saturday nights, used by BBC and MTV for location filming, the oppurtunities are endless!!

Always number one for sport the George IV offers 3 x plasma's, 2 big screen projectors and a plasma in the garden with surround sound for the big events. Nothing is a problem. We show Sky Sports and ESPN.
